Anyone ever heard of "atmospheric river"?

Prior to 2021?

Thats the current scary buzzword the MSM is using in my area.

Used to go by the term "heavy rainfall" not sure why they changed it.

I remember the term from some Freshman 101 science class. I haven't heard it much since, but that's how this goes, people learn buzzwords and run with them. I heard "paying dividends" like a dozen times watching football over thanksgiving. Who ever uses that term?
