Experiences with Vax passports for foreign travel?

A friend of mine just went to Denmark and no one asked to look at his covid card, not flying to Denmark or returning to the US.

Anyone else have experiences with foreign travel and vax proof?

When I was in Montreal a few months ago my buddy and I had to show proof of vaccination whenever we went to restaurants.
