Does anyone else just not see themselves working a traditional job anymore?
At my current job, we’ve been working from home up until now so it hasn’t been too bad - however, I know we will have to go back into the office eventually at some point for a certain amount of time in the week.
Most places seem to want people coming back to the office and I just can’t imagine myself returning to the office environment and dealing with the fcking gossip, politics, drama, political correctness anymore.
I’m moving from an ultra high COL area to an area where my max monthly expenses all will be about $1000. My portfolio can essentially support me indefinitely now assuming a 8-10% historical return (S&P 500 + dividend aristocrats stocks). However, at 29, it’s much too early to hang it all up and I’m looking to start some kind of business or employ myself in some kind of capacity as an investor/trader/etc.
I just can’t see myself returning to a fcking wagecel job and piss away the rest of my life working for comparative pennies vs what senior leadership gets. Believe me, the distribution of income (especially in the stock options) is absolute INSANITY and almost criminal. I manage the company’s share plan and the amount of times I see the senior executives getting continuous six figure payouts (or more) per month while stressing profitability/sacrifice for the company is laughable….nobody knows how much these fckers are making out with so they jump on board like blind sheep on whatever new bs initiatives roll out to further strain scarce resources.
Anyone else in the same boat this year? Gonna look into ecommerce/options trading/dividend investing/basically anything that can be reasonably done from home in peace and away from smooth-brain gen pop numbskulls.
I’m done with the rat race, srs.
