I had to use Excel for the first time today

Because the replacement laptop I have doesn't have Python yet


How is someone with a career heavily involving Excel supposed to do this for 40 years and expect not to be depressed? srs

I work with unstructured data that requires Machine Learning and Python, Excel is easy to grasp

I heavily use Oracle P6

I don't love it, I don't hate it......it's what I do for work and it pays well.

I work in business analytics and am pretty proficient using Python. While Python and it's libraries are certainly more powerful for handling large datasets, these are both tools at the end of the day and it's up to you how/when you use them. There are certain things that are needlessly complicated in Python that frankly are more efficient to do in Excel. Also, Excel is quite a powerful tool if you REALLY know how to use it (i.e. now array formulas, etc.). The biggest challenge I have with Excel is that it sucks for anything above 25K rows or when you have multiple tabs worth of data sources. Outside of that, it does most of what I want it to do pretty easily.
