unhealthy behavior is only ever a problem when it involves fat people. talking about health and government dollars are just excuses to cover up that they are being judgmental azzholes.

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think. Oh I am sorry you probably do not have a brain. I on the other hand will be happy to buy you a plane ticket to come here and see if you have the nerve to say that to someone I know.

I don't agree with fat shaming but I am very against the body positivity/healthy/beautiful at any size movement. I think it's doing a huge disservice to people. People should be encouraged to be at a healthy weight rather than encouraged to be obese.
Also adding for Donny. Smoking is a disgusting habit and excess drinking is no good either.

I am an alcoholic, I do not promote it and do not think it is good. Despite being that, I am very physically capable. Got straddle planche and half lay dragon press yesterday (not dragon flag....PRESS...way harder), will be doing full front lever after pull ups today. Internally, probably not that healthy. Muscle wise...set...strong as fukc and very lean.
Fat people that go on about healthy at any weight....NO. Just stop it. Don't promote that sht. It is not OK.

Ok so why do we ridicule overweight people and not people with other unhealthy vices?
The answer may surprise you, at 11.
Ok it's 11. the answer is, because our genetic memory tells us to give room to unhealthy poeple who would still make for a good hunting partner or warrior.
very very overweight and unhealthy people that would make for poor hunters or warriors are not the same as very very overweight people who have an appropriate ratio of fat to muscle.

people are saying that it's possible to be fat and happy, which is true. being happy is a choice. whether i'm fat or i'm fit, i can choose to be happy. just cause i'm fat doesn't mean i have to live my life being miserable. but unfortunately people out there like to make people feel bad about being fat.

The explosion in obesity isn't due to a whole bunch of lazy people being born all of the sudden... it's due to a lifestyle change for most of the western world that is wholly different from that of humans in the past. People (as a whole) are still adapting to these changes. Add into that a whole bunch of societal changes (fewer stay-at-home moms cooking meals and more people grabbing fast food out of convenience, etc.) and you have a recipe for people getting obese easier than in centuries past. In 1800, it was hard work to get enough calories in your diet. In 2021, it's hard work to avoid getting too many.we do not live in isolation and what others do impacts society, a massive amount of public health money is spent on managing the health impact of obesity...a self inflicted condition so that affect me doesn't it

We have specific ways to quantify when someone's BMI is too high/low to classify them as such. It's not perfect, but if you couple that with bodyfat %, and blood tests for what's deficient or opposite, then you've got most of what you need to know.
If you're 5'10 and 210 with a high body fat percentage, you're a fatty obese.
Same for alcoholism. If you drink till you're 0.08 or higher BAC, then you're "very impaired". And if you do this often, you're an alcoholic.
If you smoke tobacco routinely, you're a smoker. This one's harder to quantify though. I smoked a couple of cigarellos per week for some years and remember quitting with zero withdrawl issues / cravings, never got addicted. Maybe if you're a half pack or more a day smoker then you're a smoker, IDK.
