My house is 3400sqft and I don't even use half of it. Thinking about selling it and getting a 2br 2ba because it's just me and the woman and some dogos.

I downsized in 2007 and didn't regret it for a minute. Went from a 2400 sq ft 2 story house with full unfinished basement on an acre to a 1800 sq ft (that included the half finished basement area) ranch on almost .5 acre.

Don't give AF what size of house I live in. I lived in a 7.5 X 12' travel trailer for a few years and I found it quite comfortable.
Land size is more importance to me where I'm not sitting a few feet from some nosey or pain in the ass neighbour.

We lived in a rental that was like 1400 square feet. The house we bought is about 2500 and it’s so much nicer. It’s just 2 of us but being able to spread out is nice. I honestly forget we have a guest room half the time and it’s like I’m at a hotel when I go in there to watch tv. Kind of nice.

We more than halved our house size when we moved. No regrets. The biggest obstacle was what to do with all of the useless crap we accumulated from the previous house attempting to fill up spaces.
We did, however, gain a barn and several acres. That was a huge incentive to buy our current home.

We have a 1611 sq/ft house as a family of 4. We plan to upgrade in a few years. If you plan to have children, stay where you are.
Also, our house is tiny when it comes to having family over. When my husbands sister comes over with her family of 5, we are at maximum capacity and if feels like everyone is on top of one another.
But one upside is, no one ever asks to stay with us because we don’t have the room lol.

My grandfather built his home in 1952 and it's a little over 1400 sq ft. Growing up as a little girl I always loved their house. When my grandparents passed I bought it to keep it in the family. It's small but it sits on 2 acres of land which I love.
Won't ever leave.
