Pilot Dies - Passenger Lands Plane

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqPvVxxIDr0

This was a pretty riveting watch, it's kind of long, dead Pilot's leg is in the way of some of the controls. Passenger had some flight experience on a much smaller aircraft. The scramble to get all the air traffic out of the way with them all on the radio at once is just nuts but the guy was cooler than the other side of my pillow bringing it in.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

How is it that the mics they use for this are less clear than the ones people use to talk chit on xbox?
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

Planes, especially not-big commercial airliners are noisy as fukc even inside. I always LOL at movies showing people on military cargo planes casually talking to each other. If you are not on headset, you have to yell to talk to people. There is no to not much noise dampening, that adds weight. And if you get into an emergency, it's in the way to correct

They're using radio frequencies and are like 30 miles away.

That's another thing I liked about this, there's a lot of fukking sky up there and you don't realize it until they're talking about dropping the landing gear 6 miles out. Then you realize 6 miles is less than 4 minutes. I know it was a re-creation of the events with the actual communications, but I felt like I was in the Pilot's seat.

Unaware, was hoping a pilot or someone with knowledge would come in and unravel it for us, I'm completely clueless at to what's up.

Most of the time the recording is from a third party and they constantly record/archive
I have not watched the video in the OP in a while but on many of the recordings it is worse vs what you hear in the air
EXAMPLE sometimes they are clear plane to ground but you only hear ground or the pilot but they can both hear each other and the third party was just out of range
Technically you should only hear proper terms so you really are only looking out for like fifty words so its easy BUT people use slang/common terms all the time and it is fine for native speakers but it fawks ESL people

I had to read your post like 9 times but I'm getting it now.

At any rate we should invite that old TX Pilot Brah to the Misc. Could be an epic thread.

True lol. I fly a da20. Just the other day I removed the headset midflight to wear a cap and for the first time felt how loud it actually is

Props moving, fuel pump noises and sound of air flowing make it really loud
