It took about a year to get 400+. Havent really barbell squatted in a year and a half but have been doing a fuk ton of belt squats. Think the carry over is going to be crazy when I get back to it.... But to get a strong squat you have to push yourself. Most people probably don't train squats hard enough, either use spotters or use safety pins so you can push yourself close to failure or even fail. Technique is important, bar path can make or break a squat. Find what works for you

I got my squat to 725 by doing 50 pushups a day. Took less than a year.

Thanks for the tip dude, any tips to build up mental strenght at that exercise? Get nervous after the first rep when it's stupid heavy and when you have to do it 5 times over 3 sets IDK man hard explain.

Yeah, push it within reason. Obviously if you're form is breaking down you probably don't want to push through that. But as you get more experienced, form usually holds closer to failure. If you have access to a belt squat I'd do a lot of work with that plus barbell squats. I made a lot of progress training once a week 5x3 and once a week at 3 or 4x8. I always use pins, it gives me peace of mind knowing I'm not gonna die if I fail. You can practice failing with like 50% to get an idea of how to bail and where to set the pins. That made a big difference in my training.

Also how long have you been training? It takes time. I was pretty leg dominant so my squat and deadlift progressed fast but it took a long time to build a 315 bench. I hit 500 squat and 600 deadlift a couple years before I ever benched over 300

Wearing skin tight pants and no underwear usually gets you better results. I gained around 250lbs on my squat just doing that. Also for some reason squatting in front of hbbs can get you around 50lbs more.

I see

I've been training 6 years, but due to gyms being locked down for almost a year I fell completely off and lost 30 lbs but building up atm. Tall aswell 6'7 but I know shouldn't be an excuse know people at 6'5 who squat 500-600+
