Sen. Joe Manchin says he won’t vote for Biden’s Build Back Better Act, potentially killing the social and climate bill

Sen. Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat, said Sunday he won’t support the Biden administration’s “Build Back Better” plan.

Manchin’s decision will likely kill the $1.75 trillion social spending and climate policy bill as it is now.

Democrats need Manchin’s vote in the 50-50 Senate, plus a tie-breaker from Vice President Kamala Harris.

I assume that early chid tax creit payments is credited with pushing monthly household income above the poverty line resuting in a flaw statistic. Next month those payments wont come and a single mother of 3 will see a 1000ish drop in net income that theyve enjoyed for the past 6 months. And their tax refund in February will be reduced accordingly for collecting the credits early. Poverty is about to rise sharply on Bidens watch and people who werent working because they were living off credits are gonna have to go back to work. Problem is with wages up employers will have the ability to be picky about who they hire. Youll need references and a college degree to work a retail job for 17 dollars an hour and unskilled high school drop outs will be excluded from the workforce.

I'm not sure what point he's trying to make... it's a 50/50 split, with the tiebreaker going to vp kamala. (effectively giving biden and the democrats full control of both branches)
