I went down the rabbit hole with this one. Pulled 351w with 375 hp out of my 1965 Mustang to freshen it up. Ended up building this monstrosity of a motor for that little 2800 lb car. Mainly a street car but I will be taking it to the strip a couple times per year with buddies that have hot rods too. This thing is going to be a tire fryer so I'll let you know what tires I'll be using so you can buy stock in the company.

I'm not much of a picture guy so here's the best I have. Yeah I might mini tub. The biggest I can put on there now is a 9.5" wide tire and this motor is going to destroy them.

Why not go for 574 hp?

i wouldnt mini-tub, while it does look sweet having huge meat in the back its just not as fun to drive and you will loose interst. unless your just going for a strictly drag strip car

Why is a mini tub not fun to drive? I can see that being the case for a full tub but a mini tub only adds like 2" to the tire. The 1965 Mustang can't put much tire under it stock. There is a mini tub that keeps the rear seat without modification.

I'm excited as hell to fire this thing up and feel the power. I got home with it 330 Saturday and spent the next 25 hours in the garage (other than the 4 hours I slept) trying to get it going. Stuffing a 351w based engine in these little cars is no easy task.

He wasn't lying to you. I do it because I'm old school and like the vintage and enjoy working on it while throwing some beers back but I'll have more coin into this car than a newer one.
