Spun out and landed in a creek like this:

2008 Jetta, kid car. Pulled it out (not through the water) started and stayed running with a jumpbox, but no torque to the wheels. Thinking the transmission is full of water so changing that fluid 1st. There's really only a couple sensors that would have been submerged.
Thoughts? (especially from VW Miscers) It's drying out in a heated garage now.

You should've never started it after you pulled it out in case it had already sucked some water into the engine through the air filter. I'd pull out the plugs and crank the engine to shoot any excess water. The tranny should be a sealed unit, I think the only way water would make its way in is through the dipstick hole if it got that deep.

Moronic to try and start it at all. VERY LUCKY you didn’t blow the engine and bend a valve.
You need to immediately change all the fluids first,. Then remove spark plugs and hand turn the engine to make sure it’s not locked up.
