TV shows that started off good but went to crap

Sons of Anarchy. Show was cool through season 4, but started going downhill fast during season 5. The show automatically started going to chit as Jax Teller went from being an okay main character, to being an annoying douchebag. Gemma turning into an sociopathic kunt made the show suck too. I found the show boring and stupid af after they killed the Clay Morrow character off and shifted the full focus of the show towards Jax/Gemma. Clay was definitely a huge prick, but at least he was useful, knew how to get chit done, and sometimes funny. Jax on the other hand was just a pain in the asss.

A of SOA fans I know absolutely blather on and on about how great they think it was, including the last few seasons, which were absolute trash imo. The ending of the series was beyond stupid, too. Classic example of a show that got dragged out about 3 seasons longer than it should have been.

Came to say SOA and Dexter.

Those are taken so.... Community. The later seasons weren't awful but the spark definitely went out as lead characters left. After Donald it especially felt different.

House (should have ended at the end of season 5 and left it open to speculation)

Edit: Archer is also a good example that was mentioned. I don't know for sure but I heard the writer for Archer flat out said he wasn't interested in continuing the story anymore, but FoxFX was like "no here, have more money!" So he just halfheartedly continued lol.

S5 was the last solidly good season IMO. S6 had some good moments, S7 just a few, and everything from 8 on is just bland and repetitive as hell.

Community big time. After glover left the show was pretty bad tbh.

I agree with dexter too, but honestly I am enjoying the reboot season that's currently on.

I guess I'm odd one out here, IMO Community is extremely solid all the way up to the very end. I feel like the show was always very self aware, and the humor never stopped for me.

I have a bias towards meta humor though I think, so if that type of joke isn't your thing I could see it getting old quick.

Archer has returned to form these past two years, IMO. At this point, EVERYONE acknowledges the 3 dream seasons were a miss, and the show has gotten back to its original premise.
