US miscers, do you want Universal Healthcare? If not, why?
I love Universal Healthcare and how great it is for us all in Europe.
Ive read about people in the US who agave lost everything due to a disease or having an accident.
Plus you guys pay more in taxes than anyone, you’d think you’d at least have free healthcare.
Trillions go in to the war economy via the US, Israel receives billions in “aid”, yet the US refuses to support the health of its citizens.

I'd be ok with it if I was allowed to opt out of it and continue with private healthcare. I don't want to help pay for it. Those that want it should be the ones paying for it.

I’m all for universal healthcare if you can pass a physical fitness test, don’t drink or smoke, aren’t a tranny etc

Won’t pretend to be well educated on this topic, but I find the concept attractive as someone who has been poor most of my life. Really it’s one of the few leftist policies I can get on board with, of course only if done the right way. I’m usually anti-welfare, I just think every citizen should have basic coverage, like visiting a doctor for insulin, without having to wreck their finances.
Now should the government impose a 15% tax on everybody to pay for gender transition surgeries? Fuk no.

All posts above are fair as they come
If you want to continue with private then yes you should be able to opt out but receive no benefits UH provides if you need it
And also for the fitness tests etc, I’m my old country the money spent on obesity, alcoholics, smokers etc is in the billions and those leeches really should be left to rot.
And yes, gender reassignment should 100% be out of said trannys pocket, not taxpayers

I'm all for the U.S. providing universal healthcare for its citizens. And to pay for that program, Biden should tell the world that we will no longer be shouldering the majority of expenses for scams such as the United Nations. You euro cukcs need to start paying your fair share and quit relying on America like the yammering leeches that you are.

dont think it would work in the states as well as it does up here.
im fiscally conservative, but i dont mind having socialized healthcare. Theres this idea that being fiscally conservative means you dont want to pay any taxes... i dont mind paying taxes, i just dont want peoples tax money going to stupid shiet.

I’d be for it if person had a job working at least X amount of hours and filed W2’s.
So basically it would be offered through employer but would be free/super cheap.
People who sit at home all day, leech off the government and contribute nothing to society/economy don’t deserve universal healthcare.
Could also have tiers based off individual health. Not really fair to someone who eats healthy/exercise have to pay the same (via taxes) and get the same care versus someone who is obese/smoker.

Sure. If you're a net federal tax payer or a honorably discharged veteran you should be able to get a universal, low cost low benefit catastrophic health plan.
If you don't contribute then don't get hurt.

Homeless and illegals already have universal healthcare. Anybody walking into a hospital will be treated, regardless of whether or not they can pay. If they can't track you down for the bill, then they don't end up getting your money. And they pass the cost onto people who they can track down. Good, contributing citizens.
Healthcare would not cost so much if it weren't for bullchit regulations on drugs/treatments and having to pay for lowlifes. As usual, the communist tells you the problem while lying to you about the solution.

Someone who doesn’t have a job but has accident, eg car accident, laceration, some illnesses, shouldn’t be denied medical attention just because they don’t have a job.
Taxes go to much more wasteful things than helping someone without a job, I don’t see what harm it can do.

No. It would be a disaster and we would have to wait forever for pharmaceuticals and medical care.

I'm for single payer and the elimination of "for profit" administration on basic services.
Only having to deal with one main form of payment should be a massive relief for healthcare providers.
Paying multiple administrators [health insurance companies] a profit for mostly preventing people from receiving care while increasing the cost of administration on the provider side seems dumb as hell.
The GAP style private coverage should be as easy as a HSA debit card that a provider can just swipe and get paid.
- administration of basic healthcare as a whole population risk pool funded via general taxes
- plan pays providers on a set fee schedule based on local markets [chargemaster essentially]
- not "free" exactly, but with co-pays and a max OOP that may be reduced due to lower income to prevent over utilization [free to me so go in for everything] AND under utilization [can't pay my rent if I go to the doctor, get even sicker and have to go to the hospital]
- might offer tax incentives for good health habits [healthy weight, regular checkups, etc.]
- providers CAN charge more than the set fees [chargemaster] BUT must disclose this up front and collect the extra payment directly from their patients or from a GAP type insurance plan that may cover extras
- private GAP insurance could be offered for profit and could be purchased by employers or individuals to cover co-payments, extra fees above those set by the single payer plan, and non-essential things like private rooms, hormone replacement, cosmetic reconstruction, alternative medicine, etc.
You could see any doctor and go to any hospital provided that they will accept you as a patient [which they mostly would as they are guaranteed to get paid something].- plan pays providers on a set fee schedule based on local markets [chargemaster essentially]

A common misconception in the U.S. is that countries with universal health care have much longer wait times. However, data from nations with universal coverage, and historical data from coverage expansion in the United States, show that patients in other nations have similar or shorter wait times.
https://worldpopulationreview.com/co...mes-by-countryWait times are actually all over the place and there doesn't seem to be a straight line correlation between private and government systems. For some things the US is better and for some things it is worse.

When I was in MI near a big healthcare group I found it was often just dumb how long it would take to get in to see my GP. Other than an annual checkup you generally see your GP for stuff that needs to be taken care of soon[ish], but isn't bad enough to go to urgent care or an ER.

I would love it.
I am worth a few million dollars, but I take medication that is like $5,000 every 8 weeks. My insurance pays for all of it, it's really the only reason I still work lol. If I had universal healthcare I would quit my job tomorow.

Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
