CDC cuts quarantine time from 10 days to 5 now for people testing positive for COVID

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday cut the amount of time it recommends people should isolate after testing positive for COVID-19, reducing the number of days from 10 to five.

Health officials similarly reduced the amount of time one should quarantine after coming into contact with someone who tests positive.

The changes come amid a recent surge in cases spurred by the omicron variant and concerns about staffing shortages at hospitals, airlines and businesses across the country. Research has suggested omicron, while more infectious, causes milder illness. CDC officials say the new guidance is in keeping with growing evidence that people with the coronavirus are most infectious in the two days before and three days after symptoms develop.

Just my opinion but I'm treating this as a normal cold. If I have symptoms then I'll stay home till I'm better. If I'm not bad enough to go to the hospital then I'm not going to run and get tested. Fukk anything the CDC says, they've been full of chit for 2 years now.

probably the only good thing to come from Bidet's Presidency, if Trump were in office they'd probably be increasing the days spent in quarantine.

It’s only because the workforce is shot. They’re bringing in the military because hospitals are short of staff. That’s the only reason why they cut the quarantine time, IMO.

Selective services were stopped last year during the pandemic so nearly 1,000,000 nurses were laid off because of just COVID related stuff.
