Which PS5 game should I buy?
Console should arrive today and I’m contemplating which game to get first. Will pretty much be single player all the time. For years most of my gaming has been in the COD/MW realm but burned out on that(and haven’t played in years). I have it narrowed down to:
Ratchet and Clank - at the top of most lists so I figure that many people can’t be wrong
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla -though I’ve never played one before. Will there be any part of a storyline that I’m missing or is it standalone. Also would the learning curve be too steep?
Ghost of Tsushima - haven’t played before so would get to enjoy the storyline while also taking it in for the first time with the graphics of 5
Deathloop - I really enjoy puzzles and if you throw in some nice action/murder it sounds like a good combo

I've played both GoT and AC Valhalla. Both are really good, but GoT is like top 5 ever IMO. AC Valhalla is stand alone, to answer your question.
I've been thinking about getting Deathloop, but I haven't yet so I can't really comment on that one.

Good suggestions(will try to eventually rep everyone). Sounds like I’ll be going with GoT to start. I’d forgotten about FF7 and Tony Hawk though so I’ll probably check those out as well along with Valhalla.

OP, with the PS5 there is no debate on which game to play first. It literally comes with a game preinstalled, Astro's Playroom, that is meant to be played first to introduce you to what the controller is capable of and get you familiar with the button layout and everything.
So what you really mean is, AFTER you play Astro's Playroom, you don't know what to play next.
As far as I'm concerned, right now the PS5 has a triumvirate of "must-plays" for the full PS5 experience: Miles Morales, Resident Evil 8, and Ratchet & Clank.

The only think bad about Astro is that it's not a full length game.

If you liked COD stuff you'll love Doom:Eternal. Also I've heard Psychonauts 2 is amazing. Only mentioning them because nobody has said them yet. Both are on sale on the Store right now.

Anyways, yeah i's just what I always tell everyone that just got a PS5 - that Sony intended everyone to play Astro first after unboxing their PS5 so they can get acquainted with everything. Some of the music in that game is bangers, too.

Definitely seems like the biggest jump between generations. Honestly I just asked for it so I would have it when PSVR2 drops because I haven’t been playing any games for over a year, but I could definitely see myself working through some in 2022 if they are like this.Sorry bro - didn't mean for that to come out sarcastic-y or anything.
