Which LANGUAGE to learn in 2022? (srs) (33k reps)
Trying to learn a new language this year. I’m fluent in Spanish already.
Popular ones are: mandarin (Chinese), French, Italian, German, Korean.
I’m feeling like French or Chinese. What say you misc?

french, portuguese, and italian would be the quickest and easiest to learn because of the similarities with spanish and english
mandarin would be the most useful but probably take by far the longuest to learn

I'd like to learn Italian because I like Italian movies...Just seems like the resources to learn aren't sufficient unless you have actual teacher.

Thanks for the great suggestions broskis.
Going to start small and go with Italian, then work my way up from there. Shouldn’t be a bad transition since I’m fluent in Spanish already

I am assuming for career/social advantage in addition to English already fluent/mother tongue.
If you want European established economies - German.
If you want a European with good tiger potential - Spanish (gives you Latin America that also can be tiger).
On a global scale? Mandarin by far. Chinese bitches love it.
If you want the global scale lite - Russian.

Don't bother with Chinese. It will take you far, far longer to learn than a European language. French or Italian will be easiest. German a little harder.
I would go with French since I care about reading classic literature and philosophy and there's a lot of great books written in French. Which language is right for you will depend on what you are interested in.

Would make sense to just focus on the most used/common phrases (and obviously quite a bit of overlap in some languages with the words).
Scandinavians always seem to know the most languages on average in my travels.
