I have a close friend, she's 27 years old and I've known her for a few years. Absolutely nothing romantic between us. Here's some things I've noticed:

- She hasn't been dating for about the past 8 months or so. Part of the reason she says is the texas abortion law that changed, even though we don't live in texas nor is she pregnant, apparently this is an obstacle
- When she sees a girlfriend doing anything for her boyfriend (driving, picking up the check, helping with cooking dinner etc) she makes fun of her with a derogatory term called a "pickme" (I had to google this term. It means a desperate girl who wants to be picked so she does things to stand out)
- Some of the dating advice she's told other girls in our group include things like: 1. When you have a date arranged, never leave until the guy is there and texts you asking where you are. 2. Never ask questions in text chats, he should put in all the effort into keeping conversation alive. 3. Never get him any gifts for christmas etc 4. Never split the check and never drive him anywhere

Lmao its hard to believe this is real life after typing that out. Literally none of that is an exaggeration, and this is a real life friend I know personally

I really feel for you guys in this day n age. It’s like people can’t just be normal anymore.

I think girls can get like this after spending too long online dating. Since there are zero social ramifications for treating people callously, it can get brutal on both sides of the isle. Clearly someone hurt her.
