Can someone explain to me the logic in getting mad at the burger joint for raising their pay and not at your employer keeping your pay at $15/hour even though they make 5k off a 10min ambulance ride?
I can usually get into the mind of a cuckservative and understand their thought process, but I am drawing a blank here

its hard to get in the warped mind of a lib, so ill assume you are talking about raising min wage, which is a completely different animal than what your post describes.

Depends on the benefits package. If being an EMT comes to with 0 dollar deductible health insurance and 4 weeks paid vacation each year then it's better than most $22 an hour jobs that have poverty benefits package.
Ive turned down plenty of job offers with high dollar amounts and ****ty benefits over the years

A conservative will tell you that if you can make more money doing something you’re qualified for then you should go do that instead.
When people stop applying to be emts for $15 they’ll raise the wage or go out of business from lack of staff.
You’re welcome

If I trained to become an EMT and was only offered $15HR, I'd move somewhere else and earn more money. Or become a firefighter and make double that to do nothing except eat and do truck checks.

I’m not experienced enough in medical billing to speak to this specific scenario. My general opinion, however, is that raising minimum wage will probably lead to inflation, and devalue existing money. This might get balanced out eventually, but the initial impact will affect the most vulnerable entities (small businesses) the most, and will probably sink many of them.

I feel like most people that are EMTs are doing it for it’s potential to open doors in the future. Employers know that and exploit them. For example, a lot of EMTs go on to be firefighters, nurses, etc.
When you take a job for the same pay at McDonald’s it’s a dead-end. I’d imagine it’d be pretty difficult finding a career as an adult with McDonald’s on your resume.

This is just sad srs. What's the career goals of an EMT though? To get into a managerial position? Take their EMT experience and do what exactly? Is it usually just a temp job until you get into a medical related job, and you're a student otherwise? IDK but if an EMT's typical career doesn't lead to a nicer $50k+ salary job ($24/hr) then maybe people need to sit down, look at actual salaries of jobs in each industry they're interested in before devoting their education, career, life, to something that won't even get them into retirement.

I was a full time firefighter for almost 121 years. This exact reason is why I'm now just volunteer. I spent 11 years to make 11.61 an hour.
I know who I am. And after all these years, there’s a victory in that.

It requires alotttttt of work. People tend to point out the millionaire CEOs of the corporate body but most burger joints are owned and operated by hardworking middle class people.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

It's unfortunate OP that you can't understand something as simple as this.
But liberals are like Sith Lords, they only deal in absolutes. The minimum wage must be $15/h, nevermind that the cost of living varies greatly from state to state. $15/h in WV is baller money.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I heard from people in the industry that smoke season is not from global warming but rather from firefighters just letting the fires burn. They get paid 24/7 with hazard pay during fire season. Their low pay explains it.
We need to pay them more but as a bonus in November to those who worked most the summer, proportional to months work and inversely propotional to how many trees burned.

I thought it was universally known that EMT's pay is crap despite the intense training they go through and having to see stuff daily that would put a normal person in a mental house.
We all know that they deserve way more than they make. We think its crap that you can work at a burger joint and make as much as an EMT.
