Ground Beef thawed for 24 hours well after expiration date...yes or no?
I bought it on sale 1 day before expiration on November 19th and threw it in the freezer. Thought I was going to thaw it and cook it yesterday, but went with something else.
Wut do? srs.

Poverty is a hard taskmaster
“ "Got all kinds," he said. "Hamburg, like to have some hamburg? Twenty cents a pound, hamburg."
"Ain't that awful high? Seems to me hamburg was fifteen las' time I got some."
"Well," he giggled softly, "yes, it's high, an' same time it ain't high. Time you go on in town for a couple poun's of hamburg, it'll cos' you 'bout a gallon gas. So you see it ain't really high here, 'cause you got no gallon a gas."
Ma said sternly, "It didn' cos' you no gallon a gas to get it out here."
He laughed delightedly. "You're lookin' at it bass-ackwards," he said. "We ain't a-buyin' it, we're a-sellin' it. If we was buyin' it, why, that'd be different."
Ma put two fingers to her mouth and frowned with thought. "It looks all full a fat an' gristle."
"I ain't guaranteein' she won't cook down," the storekeeper said. "I ain't guaranteein' I'd eat her myself; but they's lots of stuff I wouldn' do."

As far as the question, yes it’s probably fine. It’s not like a steak where you’d eat it medium or medium rare. Just brown it really good and it should be fine. When you freeze it the aging process basically stops, and the date they put on it isn’t set it stone. You usually have a 1-2 day buffer, especially if you’re cooking it well done. Can’t be responsible if you get sick though, eat at your own discretion.

It's definitely dependent on the smell. Just because it has turned brown doesn't mean anything. Besides, cooking the beef will often render it harmless. I've left beef sitting in the fridge for far too long and still cooked and ate it with no issues.

Actual, factual answer:
Food kept frozen (at 0 degrees or lower) is technically safe to eat forever, since bacteria cannot grow on it. Over time though it will deteriorate and become less tasty, freezer burned etc. Not as appetizing but not dangerous.
What do you mean "expiration date"? Do you mean sell by date? If they had to sell it by the next day and it's been in your freezer, it's for sure still fine. It's a SELL BY date - you have a day or two after that it's still safe, and remember even then producers err on the side of caution. Being in the freezer "pauses" the aging of the product - if it was good, it's still good.
Of course you shouldn't just trust those dates as gospel since it could have been stored improperly etc and gone bad as a result - give it a quick sniff to be sure. I've drunk milk that was curdled even tho the date on it was still good - bad seal let in air? Who knows.
