Rentcel here, backstory: We live in a basement appartment, homeowners had been doing construction on their house and our basement unit for 3 months. They added a wooden over lay to our entry stairs and did not properly secure them to the concrete. So our stairs have been loose for 2 months and they have aknowledged this, i have the texts proving that they were aware of the hazardous condition. (the texts are from 2 months ago and they choose not to do anything about it)

Last night when we are getting home from work my girlfriend step onto the second stair and the wood detaches and she flys down the stairs. Her back hurts and she had to call out of work. Going to take her to urgent care. What should i do?

1. go to urgent care ASAP.
2. document everything in writing.
3. consider consulting a personal injury attorney if the medical bills and loss of work and pain/suffering persist and warrant it.

thanks boyo. as much as i hate being that guy, the neglagence on this is ridiculous. I feel like its probably in our best interest to consult an attorney considering its her back. i just hate to do it
