Misc is old and full of boomers

Holy chit just realized how old everyone here is and made me sad

I remember when I first arrived at the misc, anyone over 30 were constantly called out for being old and told to go to over 35 misc

Now that never happens, because everyone in the misc is 30+

Feels like im in a nursing home forum now

Yeah, there’s a few guys who are below 35 and even a few who are older but still in touch. Lots of ppl very out of touch here though for sure.

I have come to the odd realization that places like misc, reddit, and just discussion boards in general are all people like 25-50 years old. There's a few kiddos here and there but not many. The new wave of social media is the sociable norm and discussion boards are an odd place for the vast majority of folks.

We grew up using forums while the youngins today have their more flashy apps. I still find some of my best info on forums and just junk on the Reddit type communities. I mean the Misc is still junk but it’s our junk.

This is because Zoomers don't use forums.

Misc was always mostly older teens and people in their early to mid 20s....with a constant new user base of young people signing up.

But eventually the Zoomers came of age and Millennials grew old....and Zoomers don't use forums.

This caused:

1) The activity and user base to drop off

2) No new people signing up and posting

3) The late teens and early-mid 20s people on here grew old and are now in their 30s and 40s

This. I started miscing when I was 17-18 and remember everyone else being in there early to mid 20's with maybe a couple of late teens here and there.

Now at 26 I feel like one of the youngest guys here since 80% of this forum is 30+.
