At the end of a video I had running.

- psychopaths make up between 1% and 5% of population
- the stable point is 3%
- once the percentage hits 5% more normies become aware of the psychopaths

I believe that what SS is describing is NPD. Narcissists can be quite malignant and some may even be sociopaths.

Psychopaths are a different animal AFAIK. They are hard-wired to process emotion differently vs. warped by experience.

My perhaps false opinion is that I could get on fine with psychopaths given that:

- I'm not a threat to them or their agenda.
- I don't have anything they want.
- There is relatively honest direct communication.

Not because I'm some kind of bad ass, just because I'm pretty damn agreeable and non-threatening. Also atypical so less likely to assume people will act like I think they *should*.

It's mainly just super low empathy, so:

- doesn't care about screwing over other people for trivial gain
- doesn't care about people dying
- views relationships as entirely transactional without deeper bonds

You can have these traits and function just fine in society, although you're it would suck IMO because genuine bonds between people is a large part of how we obtain satisfaction in life.

It's just if the sociopath has other issues, well OK then they're going to be a menace to society.

That is why it's classified as a disorder. It's basically a compulsion. In SOME cases it's a way to feel superior. It other ways they can't actually imagine or deal with a situation in which they are not the center of attention. In other ways is it's a control / ego issue. In any case it's a disorder.

They are super easy to get along with initially because they will use manipulation techniques like mirroring etc. But they want and will get power over your mind. If they target you they will be able to control yoiu.

i've studied psych quite a bit and i still don't quite get how someone discerns the psychopath/ narcissist chit.

i know it's spectrum based but still. i think everybody "targets someone they want something from" as unfortunate as it is. it seems that would be the foundation for the exchange, though. in a normal relationship, it's just equal and reciprocated

i guess a psychopath would just nail it hard on one end of a spectrum
