Will Canada ever become another US state?

With the rise of China, do you think Canada will ever become another state of the US?

How come it isn’t a state now? I would have thought the Brits being kicked out of the US would have been a good time?

Historically, the two nations were to become one during the March 1, 1781, Paris Treaty. Canada was requested to be joined to America, an invitation they turned down. Therefore, Canada is an independent country and not part of the US.


The British had already given them freedom of religion and language. They were concerned they would not enjoy such freedoms as a part of the US, where anti Catholic sentiment ran high. There were also Loyalists and natives who fought on the side of the British and had no interest in becoming American.

After the American revolution many loyalists left for Canada so they had no interest in leaving Britain. Also we tried to take it in the war of 1812 and failed there.

I've always been proud to be Canadian, that's all gone over the span of 2 years. I'll never be proud of this piece of chit country again. 1st chance I get I'm gone.
