Office-brahs: How do I do this without wanting to rope myself everyday? Srs.
Hello fellow office-cels,
Due to unforeseen issues in my life, I’ve had to take on an office job for the past 8 months. I am compensated fairly and the work is not overly stressful, but I cannot find any meaning or motivation in the work I do. Most days are WFH too, so I go most days without interacting with another soul. Waking up everyday is a struggle and I’ve lost all motivation for working out/self-improvement. I barely get any work done either because all I can think of is roping myself.
The only thing that keeps me going is the various application processes I’m in for better work in my field and possibly returning to grad school. Other than that, it’s becoming tough to get up and office-cel each day.
How do I do this brahs? Should I just resign and day trade all day? Should I give up and wage cel at Starbucks while I wait on my other applications? Lol.

I used to feel that way at one point, however every time I drive by a flock of tradies freezing outside in their full high-vis suits my perspective changes.
Work is just an ATM to me.

I WFH full time, what helps me as routine and dressing like im at the office. Wake up same time, exercise 1 hour, eat a healthy and actually cooked breakfast, then get dressed in nice jeans, polo and nice shoes. I even spray a short of cologne. No idea why buy dressing like im at work helps. I also take a 15 every 2 hours to walk around the neighborhood and get chores done at lunch, so im never straight working for more than 1:45 at any given time.
Also Spotify.
I did they exact same thing on the office. That 15 minutes of movement and sunlight every 2 hours really picks up the mood.

Depends on what you do.
Some days I get bored, but that's when I hardly have any work to do. When I have work, especially things that are mentally challenging, I get focused and time flies.
For context, I work as a systems engineer in IT.

I WFH
Get my work done in like 3-4 hours.
Stay logged in for the rest of the time monitoring emails and just chill. Clean, do laundry, go for a walk, etc.

Why not get up at 7am - sign online, get all you chit done in 2-3 hours (Be honest, your work is easy and if you focused you'd knock it out in a couple hours at most) Then go to the gym around lunch - now you have the rest of the day to either enjoy yourself, learn new skills, pick up a side hustle, get another job and double your income.....I mean holy chit dude, you freaking kids these days are lazy to a level I've never seen. Of course you want to rope yourself, you're living a depressing life because YOU'RE TOO COMFORTABLE. Get UNCOMFORTABLE *******.
Get off my lawn.
