Florida --- To Montana for a snowboarding trip. Help.

Alright bois. I'm born and raised in Florida. Visited a lot of states but have never been snowboarding. Heading out to ****ing Montana next month with some friends to try a black diamond. Anyways, been looking for some snowboarding gear. First thought was like, hell year, hot tub time machine retro look.... but all the retro looks I've found just hasn't hit the spot.

Anyways, trying to find something online that's reasonably priced ($350-under for jacket+pants or suit). Found this:https://www.amazon.com/GS-SNOWING-Wi...-41&th=1&psc=1

Ideas? Obviously there isn't much selection here in Florida to go locally so everything has to be online pretty much. Don't want to look like a straight up tourist, which I think the above probably will. lmao.

All you bois snowed in right now... what advice can you give on a solid but economically friendly set (again, Florida... won't use but maybe once a year).

Im not gay or black but i have a pretty huge dick and would advice u to take it easy and to fuk smaller guys until u get some experience

Not many black guys in Montana either

Oh calm down, snow is snow. Bunny hill is only a couple degrees lower. Plus I've got wake boarding experience, obviosuly that translates.

I've got several thousand into this trip. If I slide down, I'll still get more money's worth than some bunny hill next to a 10yr old. Actually just bought health insurance for the first time in 3 years for prepration as well. Should be fun. Anyways... back to clothing... thoughts? As a snowboarder myself you will not have fun on that black diamond esp on your fist time... stick to greens and blues bud (which are actually really fun, bunny slopes are like 0, greens 1-3 blues 4-5, diamond 6 double-black 7-9 and non-resort mountain where you need a helicopter just to get there 10 in terms of difficulty 1-10) Throw out everything you think you know from skateboarding/longboarding/wakeboarding/whatever it is. It is completely different.

as far as clothing, just wear whatever you want. literally no one gives a phuck what you wear. there are pros that wear the blandest black outfit from academy/walmart and novices that wear extravagant chit to look cool

tbh tho the second pic in that amazon page looks clean. the white jacket/black pants. if you do the first pic white jacket/blue pants thats kinda ****gy

Lol, Don't know what to tell you about the clothing, I bought all my ski gear years ago at Academy and have completely forgotten what I spent.

Do whatever you think you'll have the most fun with, but don't expect to be able to even go down a slope on a snowboard right away without yeeting yourself over the side if you've never ridden before. Most people either need lessons and/or a fair bit of time on bunny slopes to learn how to carve. I used skis for years before I tried snowboarding, and had such a hard time trying to figure out toe-side turns that I gave up after a couple days - was more fun for me sticking with the skis than trying to figure that chit out.

People kept telling me because I was good at skateboarding that I'd pick up snowboarding "easy" and right away. Oh hell no, it's completely different. If anything I think the fact I was accustomed to skateboarding made it harder, by instinct I'd treat it like a skateboard which wouldn't work.

Yea yea. Thanks guys. I'm semi-joking about the black diamond. I'll be getting a 3 day lift pass and thankfully going with a group of people from never have been snowboarding/skiing to just two that have hit a black diamond once (which I heard was by accident). So definitly going on the green and blue trials but probably will try the black diamond on the last day unless I'm completely eating **** throughout the runs.

But anyways..... back to clothing. Help? lol

We have actual mountains out here and they will wreck you.

This. I slid down a kiddie slope on my when I snowboarded. My homeboy and I both did. The other guy we were with had done it before. Five year old kids were flying by us.

Where in Montana

You can get a decent Columbia coat and pants for under 300

Get a helmet and don’t die. Hopefully you’re not disappointed with your trip having never done it before. Takes a minute to get proficient

You going to Glacier too, right? I was up there in June and loved it. The pass was still closed though. I plan on going back this June too. Probably will swing through and box Vhagar’s eyes shut too while I’m at it.

Several of my friends are flying into Glacier, I'm flying into Missolua(?). Just a better time and well, cheaper. Figured the hour drive would be nice as well seeing the mountains from the otherwise flat Florida I'm use to. So actually considering it a win to drive an hour verses a downside.

I stayed in St. Ignatius, which is about 40 minutes north of Missoula. That’s a pretty drive man. And boxing his eyes shut is another way of saying fight him kek.

Not sure where St. Ignatius is, but if it's 40 minutes north of Missoula it's gotta be pretty close to Whitefish. We've got an Airbnb setup in Whitefish, appears to be about 10 minutes from the resort. Any must go-to spots to visit while we're there?

Missoula is a little further away from where you’re going, I believe. Maybe two hours or more of driving. Flathead Lake is pretty. I think that’s the name of it. It’s near Polson, which is on your way. There’s not much between Missoula and Whitefish that I’m aware of. That stretch from Missoula to Polson is just pretty. Near St. Ignatius there is a Bison Range. It’s awesome. I enjoyed visiting it.

You're right Missoula is longer than previous mentioned. I knew that when I booked the flight but thought it was closer after for some reason. Is there anything to do in Flathead Lake? Myself and friends flying into Missoula were planning to just go straight to Whitefish to meet with everyone else that'll be there about the same time we land in Missoula. But if there's some site seeing to do, we'll probably be up for it since we don't have anything planned the first day.

You might not want a three day lift pass boyo. Especially if its your first time. 3 days straight of snowboarding is absolutely brutal, and thats with knowing how to snowboard.

Just from a tiring standpoint? Other than hanging out at the airbnb, there's nothing else to do. lol. I guess I could just leave the resort if we get tired for a day, the airbnb is only 10 minutes away. But I assume we'll all just go to the lodge and chill for a bit for a break.

Yes. Your muscles will probably be extremely sore day 2 and it will be exacerbated by all the falling you will be doing. You will probably be using rental boots too so your legs/feet are going to be toast.

Interesting and solid points. Should I buy day 1 pass and day 3 pass? Day 2 is a rest day?
Any gym retruines you recommend to help other than core body?
