Why do people still think minimum wage needs to be raised?

One of local McDonald's in my area has been advertising starting wages of $15 /hr, and up to $20 /hr to work their overnight shift. Pretty sure they're paying regular crew members at least $12 or $13 /hr at this point.

It's not just them, either. Tons of places are constantly hiring around here. Way more than prior to 2020. Most have voluntarily significantly raised their wages without minimum wage hikes forcing them to do it due to worker shortages. As rough of shape as the economy is in, it seems to me that it's much better that these outfits raise their wages organically rather than having mandate them to do it.
