Hug your puppers for me!

Had to put down my boxer today. She’d have been 9 in March.
Poor girl had lost 15lbs (last vet trip was 58 down from 75.) No matter what we fed her she was barely eating, couldn’t walk without dragging her claws on her back leg had to take pills for incontinence and would randomly shake.

Rough stuff but she’s not hurting anymore.
Ever forward brahs! Give your puppers extra pets and a hug and treat for me!
God bless srs

Rest in peace to your pupper. We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to ease the pain of our 14 year old boy suffering from kidney failure. It's going on a year and I still think about him every day. It's ****ing devastating. I lost my grandpa and we knew it was coming so I was at peace with it. You could say goodbye in that scenario which made it easier to process. My pup didn't understand what was happening. All the activities I do with my other puppies still trigger memories of my boy.

Will hug our pups extra for your boy.

Sounds like you're handling it well. Do you know what was wrong with her?

Old family dog is going to die/have to be put down soon. I think this will be his last winter, going to be sad to see him go. He's already horribly underweight.

Sounds like a neurological disorder, likely caused by a disc and nerve damage. Just know, you absolutely did the right thing.

I am terribly sorry. There is no pain in the world like losing your best friend. Stay strong, but don't be afraid to be sad.

Fuk, sorry to hear that brah.

I lost my dad two months ago and then found out that his 10 year-old dog had cancer and needed to be put down less than a week later. Putting that dog down was the hardest thing I've ever done and he wasn't even mine. My own dog just turned five and I can't even imagine losing him.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

Fuuarrk I love those fawn boxers. So gorgeous.

I lost both my dogs back to back in 2020 and 2021 brah….I know them feels. I was a blubbering mess both times.

It will get better. It helps me to think of the good life I gave both my puppers, rather than the sad way it ended.

Yeah our little dogs definitely know something is up. One kept crying randomly but she’s finally calmed down now.

For real man! I actually named her Tammy after my mom.
I initially got her because I’d always wanted a pure bred boxer after we had one when I was a kid and my grandpa had just passed so I got her to help keep my Meemaw company during the day. I’d drop her off at her house on my way to work every morning lol

I can’t be entirely sure man, she just kept having more and more things piling on. She was still pretty chipper for the most part but her quality of life just wasn’t there.

That makes sense man. The vet seemed pretty clueless and just wanted more funds so I wasn’t about to keep paying for nothing.

Thanks man! She’s was gorgeous for sure and really large for a female. Think she only ever played with two males who were her size/bigger and one was a mastiff mix.

Sorry about your pups and yeah she had a great life. I’m sure your pups did too!

Damn that sucks fam. They are irreplacable.

Rip m'lady.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.
