Retailer puts warning notice on ps5s: ‘microsoft has bought activision!’

A French retailer has allegedly been spotted putting a warning on its PlayStation 5 section, telling potential customers that they may want to reconsider their purchase due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.


As pictured by Twitter user HazzadorGamin, French supermarket chain Cora is claimed to have placed the notice on its shelves, which reads: “Notice to gamers, Microsoft has bought Activision! Choose your machine carefully (Call of Duty)”.

Cora has more than 60 stores in France, and 20 more in Romania, Belgium and Luxembourg.

If the image is accurate, while it’s not clear if the Cora notice is widespread, it could represent another potential example of the wide-reaching influence of the games industry’s biggest-ever buyout.

maybe not this gen... but next one gonna be scary for PS if they dont have a Halo caliber shooter to attract that fanbase...


If you think the PS will be able to compete with one niche 25hrs. single player game per year just lol no matter how many fanboys you find on the internet... semi-casual market in real life is way bigger... and that seems to be going to MS soon.

Still I dont like much of the exclusives MS offer.. but the only good thing is this might pull Sony out of its comfort zone and we might get interesting new IPs... IMO the only thing PS needs is a solid online shooter game, everything else they have covered... but somehow their attempts have been just average.. neither Resistance or Killzone are on the level of their other exclusives.

they don't have to sell more than ps5 in order to do well as a company or grow gaming, or have a much better 1st party library. and it's not like they only have COD coming.

It doesn't need to be so black and white. I think it's obvious this won't be the disaster the x1 generation was with hardly any great games or only their existing IP's.

I hate the whole "only a winner and the rest are losers" thing like this is some sports event, but the Switch is outpacing the PS4, just fyi.

Just like the wii outselling ps3 doesn't make the ps3 irrelevant, unless you are just super invested in who sells more plastic boxes.

Does any of the **** in this thread apply to casual gamers like myself or does it only apply to l33t gamers that piss in mountain dew bottles so they don't miss the next raid?

I have a ps5 and haven't had any issues thus far. So far there haven't been any games that I like that are xbox exclusive. There are a fair amount of free games with PS+ etc...

What's the complaint? Lack of new IP's? Is there a hardware issue I'm unaware of?

The turbo-nerds are going to jerk off to their precious exclusives no matter what, they love that miserable existence kinda chit. So I'm assuming this must be aimed at the casuals who just want to have a COD/FIFA machine.

No, it has to go through regulators first. Anything is possible, but it's most likely going to go through. In terms of revenue this doesn't put MS even close to a Monopoly.

It probably won't be finalized until late this year or first half of next year. I believe June 2022 is the stated "latest" it will happen.

lol, what I want to know is how this and the Bethesda acquisition came out of absolutely nowhere............... yet pretty much every xbox first party game in development that hasn't been announced yet has been leaked. Well not all, but a lot.
