"drifting" is stupid as a sport

brb

let me take a 200hp front wheel car and burn all the treads off the tires in 5 minutes

sounds like a great, economical sport

that little white guy not only broke expensive cars (as per script) in that movie but also, along with the professional driver replacement person probably wasted 100k$ worth of rubber and a couple waste cars just to make those scenes

Also it's entertainment. Any sport is stupid if you look at it like that. Brb watching 22 homos chase a leather ball and run up and down a field for 1.5 hours.

Formula drift has some actual interesting rules and is fun to watch. But I guess you need a healthy level of test to enjoy screaming engines and smoking tires.

Tokyo Drift on the other hand is total dog sht as they pretend it's a race. Drifting is never the fastest way around a track.

Pretty gay to me and attracts normies to the car hobby but on the other hand the more people interested in motorsports the better chance that drag strips and other motorsport complexes stay open and around. A ton have closed the last few years despite that though. On a related note I did drift my Cobra off the freeway once after I hydroplaned on my drag radials in a sudden rainstorm.

ive drifted in my 1997 nissan sentra. not on purpose, it was kinda hydroplaning but i imagine it looked exactly like those stupid drift races

I think drifting is a dumb "sport" as well. But you drifting in your ****box isn't the same as pros drifting in properly setup 600-700 horse rear wheel drive cars.

It is probably fun to do but boring to watch. The cars make it look more like slithering much of the time, watching grippier cars slide on track like Chris Harris in his car reviews is more interesting to see.
