Shouldn’t being born a male immediately put them at an advantage. Why would a biological male want to degrade their body just to join a female swim team? They’re only promoting child abuse imo.

This is the right approach. I am fine with treating gender as a social construct for most purposes, but this is not one of them. The reason for the distinct competition groups is rooted in the genetic differences between genetic males and genetic females and has nothing to do with social designations.

By elite, do they mean compared against biological women? They certainly aren't elite when competing against men.

So is that retroactive, meaning the guy who is now swimming as a female has to leave the team? He only stayed away for one year instead of three.

Hopefully all sports bodies follow suit, especially in track and field.

This was the one episode of clown world I wanted to see play out.
