Restaurant portions are wayyy smaller

Both Jersey Mike's and Chipotle have cut their portions by what I estimate 40%. Got a sub last weekend that should was about half the size. The same with my chipotle bowl. It felt half the weight as it was last year.

I'm interested in knowing if Chipotle has cut down on the size of it's chicken sandwich. It's gonna be buried in the bun and I'll need a search party to find it.

Anyone else notice this same trend?

Yeah. I wouldn't so much mind it (America needs smaller portions), but they are also raising the prices while cutting the portions.

I love Jersey Mike's, but the regular size is too small and the large (giant) is too big. There is no middle ground.

Try Chinese food. Will go great with the opening Olympics ceremony.

Chinese food is the only place I will trust. The place by me has not changed the portion sizes at all. Prices went up a bit, but the portions are the same if not bigger.

I've noticed the same thing many places- less food for more money.

Some frozen dinners have gotten so silly I was thinking they shouldn't be able to call it by the usual name [chicken marsala, beef pot roast] if there is less than 3 ounces of meat because I'm pretty sure many have less than 2 ounces now.

- marsala vegetables with chicken tidbits
- root vegetables in chunky beef gravy

I used to be able to split a regular with my daughter, but she has gotten bigger and the sandwiches have gotten smaller.

I noticed it more from groceries. Three years ago we used to be able to shop for the week for around $125 for a growing family...maybe 12-14 reusable bags for reference. Now it's $250 minimum for 6-8 bags.

So much this.

Regular is just not enough and I'm always still hungry. Basically an expensive snack. The giant is literally twice as big which is ridiculous, and also much more expensive, making it too much sandwich and too much money. I don't even have a problem with the size too much, but if I'm eating that much sandwich, I want two different types so it doesn't get old, but I'm not paying close to $30 for sandwiches especially when it's just as much as one giant which is like just under $20. Just ridiculous.

I literally burst out laughing last time I got Chipotle

I got a burrito, unwrapped it, and that chit was like 4 inches long

Finished it in 3 bites.

I went to Olive Garden since I got a gift card, and I haven't been to one in years. I decided to get the chicken parm meal. I laughed when I opened the to go container, what used to be a huge breast, turned out to be two chicken patty sized cuts of meat.

I rarely eat out for two reasons. How expensive it's gotten, and how much healthier it is to cook at home.
