Honestly have no idea why that is still being taught to kids. Waste of an hour that they could be learning important shiet.

Especially today, you can literally just say “hey siri” and that hoe will tell you what the capital of nepal is and how many people live there in less than a second.

This. Some people can't even point out Missouri on a map...I can understand if you don't know where Brazil is on a map, but at least know about your own country lol.

I disagree. I think it’s very important to know. Imagine if the grid went down and you can’t use your iPhone.

So if the grid goes down, youd need to know where the island of fiji is situated? Or how many countries are in south america? Not sure if srs.

Spend the time we use to teach kids geography to teach them financial literacy instead. Infinitely more useful.

sounds clichee but math past grade 6 or whatever. a bunch of abstract bullchit that makes no sense to 98% of people and even those who do decent probably don't actually understand what the fuk they're doing or why they're doing it. apart from that tiny minority that actually "gets" math on a deeper level and go into STEM and all that, bothering with advanced math is a complete waste.

but education is mostly about seperating wheat from caff rather than actually teaching people anything useful, so... ya know.
