How do you fix a stiff neck?

I've been waking up with a stiff neck lately I think cause I've been sleeping 12-20 hours a night. Any quick way to fix this?

Your neck can't get stiff if you break it.

Put a towel behind your neck and pull with your left hand while turning your head to the right and then vice versa with right hand turning your neck to the left.

Try this. I do a chit ton of leaning over a desk studying and this almost always knocks out my neck pain. You can focus more on your neck than the guy in the vid.

Until you get a lacrosse ball, you can also contract your neck heavily as if you're trying to touch your ear to your rear delt. Idk the mechanism involved but it basically allows your muscles to relax after an intense contraction.

Nothing wrong with massage but physical issues are not the source of the pain.
I was lying in bed on my stomach for hours after I woke up. I'm sure that was cause.

Turn head left and right, getting a good stretch
Then tilt head left and right
Then tilt head down until chin touches chest then back as far as it'll go.

Repeat a few times

You can buy a cheapish home device for neck traction, or make one yourself from a small towel and some rope:

I’ve tried both interchangeably for years and still use them to this day, almost daily, it really makes a huge difference, my neck always feels “lighter” even with direct neck work(which also helps, neck is stiff in my early 30s now due to sports)
