But there’s no avoiding it: The benefits of universal masking have been difficult to quantify.

One controlled study in Bangladesh showed a small but statistically significant benefit — among people who consistently used masks, 7.6% got symptomatic infections compared to 8.6% in the control group.

Other studies have been inconclusive.

Wow, I am so shocked
Here we all were thinking they were effective and prevented transmission of covid and now the studies show that they don't do chit. That sure is some egg on my face since I totally believed in the masks but we do follow the science after all so now they will surely stop being encouraged now that we know better

Pretty sure every scientist knew masks don’t work.

But how can we keep reminding people that were in a pandemic and that we should be very scared and listen to everything Fauci says if we’re not wearing masks?

Put fear into them then control them. Constant daily infection and death count plus everyone walking around with a diaper in their face as if they were Chernobyl a day after it exploded.

You are also talking about masks that are medically serialized between uses with people who are trained how to put them on and not touch them versus retarded liberals inappropriately wearing the same mask for six weeks straight before finding a new one.

I supported them for a long time because it seemed reasonable to me that less droplets flying around from everyone breathing and talking could help. But I never wore the outside or alone in my car, just when required to by businesses.

Now there was an official with the CDC who said they don't work.

But then still this morning on the news they were blabbing about how "the Biden administration says it's too soon to drop mask wearing" and lamenting that you can't get a vaccine for kids 4 and under yet and that is scary because a lot of schools aren't making kids wear masks any more.

Like id been saying to Maskcels since day fukking one, they help MAYBE 0-2.9% - or the amounts some assorted cloth masks were shown to stop viruses in studies well before the rona.

They dont prevent chit except maybe, MAYBE 0-3% of it on a good day.

Moat studies came to that conclusion, that masks are not helpful against the virus. Government health authorities though wanted masks to work. I remember seeing one small study released by the government on mask that said they worked. The study though was poorly done, and of questionable value. For what ever reason though the government health authorities ignored the studies that found masks did not work, and pushed the lousy mask study.
