Eminem Back When He Had Legitimate Venom & Spirit

IMO probably the last release he had where he was on-point and you could actually hear legitimate angst in his songs. Fan made compilation album in 2003 "Don't Call Me Marshall."

After this was Encore and the steady decline since then. You could even tell in Eminem Show when his style started going more mainstream, or just lost some authenticity. The progression from Infinite -> Encore is really jarring lol. Hell, most people don't even know about Infinite.



I don't really listen to rap anymore but I liked his old stuff.

Or even this, from Infinite. Insanely different style, but still miles more genuine than anything he produces now. I also love the story telling lol.

It really casts a spotlight on who the biggest sellouts are. From commercials to the half time shows.

Honestly I feel like a big majority of celebrities/musicians that have tried to hold on to any sort of authenticity to their original cause, or have shown any sort of backbone/resistance to globohomo, have already been pushed into obscurity (or "cancelled" or whatever).

It's all just parrots and puppets on TV and radio now, if they're not a celebrity who's already subscribed to this garbage and producing globohomo approved material, you won't see them.

Though I was never a big fan, Eminem is still great, and will go down as one of the best rappers. Him taking a knee for black culture to show appreciation has set his career in stone. He would honestly be a great spokesperson for Black Lives Matter.

Yeah he had tons of venom during that time because he was beefing with Murda Inc and The Source magazine simultaneously. It was a huge thing during that time.

I liked The Eminem Show personally. It combined a lot of his personas and he was more authentic during that time instead of playing a character like in SSLP and MMLP.

Encore is when he started to show decline.

There are parts I like about The Eminem Show, but IMO that's where the cracks started to form. That's also around the time he started in-fighting with his own people like D12, or shortly thereafter.

Come to think about it, this was all around the time 8 Mile came out. I think that's a lot of what sparked the distance between him and D12, and like I said also where he started to sell out more and lose that genuine edge.

One of my favorite all time Eminem verses and what’s great about that track is the collab with Masta Ace, who was one of early Em’s biggest influences. The flow, wordplay and overall style you hear on SSEP and those early freestyles is from the school of Masta Ace, so it was a special moment to see them come together.
