This was never a fair fight - his opponent was handicapped by a mullet.

Why does it matter he was 19 when the other guy was only 23? Hardly a difference.

I don't know sht about boxing, but I always thought it was pretty amazing that Mayweather would be able control the pace of the fight so well. He was a master at getting his opponent to abandon their normal fight style and go on tilt trying to KO him. The true legends have that ability, no mater what the sport is.

Mayweather was a completely different fighter when he was younger, mostly because his hands got fukked up and brittle over his career. So he had to transition into a more defensive style type of fighting. Probably the greatest pound for pound fighter, even if you don't like him because he is cocky. You still have to respect his skills. (Ded fkn Srs)

He could still score a nice KO even near the end of his career when he got to fight a bum like McGregor or that Japanese kid.

Floyd was a great boxer, but an even greater marketer. It's how he was able to amass a $billion in his career.

His best wins is a green Canelo who at the time was still arguably losing to guys like Trout and a shot Cotto (I had his fight with Cotto a draw).
And a shot Pacquiao 5 years too late, already ktfo by JMM, way lower stamina so he didn’t overwhelm his opponents like he used to which is what people were banking on to beat him, and injured shoulder which needed an immediate surgery post fight.
At the time people were clamouring for the match, Pac was destroying common opponents much easier; dela Hoya, Hatton, cotto, Mosley. All except JMM.
The rest may be Castillo and Corrales, good wins but not ATG level. Then you guy B-C level guys like Judah, Ortiz, Guerrero etc. Maidana a B level guy arguably beat him whilst Floyd paid him $1.5M to wear the softer winning gloves instead of the hard Reyes gloves.
I have him top 10 but guys like Ray Leonard would have him, Tommy Hearns would kill him. Prime Roberto Duran and Pac would have been toss up matches.
Guy was too safety first in picking his opponents which affected his legacy.

His opponent looks like a Lowe's worker that took up boxing as a part-time gig to earn extra money.

that's a harsh way to realize you don't have the genes to be a competitive pro boxer...
The training is nothing, the will is everything. The will to act.
