Already served and have a disability rating, plus my kid is only 2.5, so I guess I'd just watch. If there was actually anything American at risk I'd sign back up though. Not going to go die to defend some EU country that spends less on defense than I do on beer every month.

NATO needs to either force all members to spend X% of their budget on defense or disband, it's just a bunch of countries hanging onto the nuts of the 3 with actual militaries, and 2 of those 3 are ranked 8th and 9th in the world military power index so almost don't count either.

Eh? The US joined in late & took the glory from Dad's Army. Bader kept getting captured. Can remember my dad was put on notice he might be recalled in 1982 for the Falklands War as he had been in the Buffs in the 1960's & was still on a reserve list. Think in the end they didn't really want 40 year old guys with families though.
