What to do about noisy inconsiderate neighbours?

Hello,

So me, my Partner and two young children moved into our new home in December. The neighbours next door rent from the council, don't work and are scummy as fuk. When we first moved in they were blaring out music until the early hours, we knocked, a guy answered and was very apologetic and the music stopped and for the next month they were pretty quite. Over the past 2 weeks however, they have been screaming and shouting (it's like they can't communicate normally), banging and sometime playing music but not as loud as when we first moved in, until the early hours of the morning.

I was woken up by them at 2am this morning and they were on and off being noisy until about 5am and i haven't been able to sleep since. My Mum and Aunt were down the other day and went and spoke to them and they denied everything, pretended to be clueless and that they were asleep at that time which is a load of utter bollocks.

We are losing our minds here, we had enough problems in life now we can't even get a good nights sleep. It's become apparent that they are just horrible people who don't give a fuk.

We really don't know what to do... We could report them to the police and council who may or may not resolve the situation but it would take a long time and they could be ten times worse if they wanted to be. Plus when selling the house we would have to disclose the dispute and it would reduce the value by a huge amount especially if the dispute was never resolved - I would feel terrible selling the house to someone anyway knowing how bad the neighbours are. We could (and might have to) just sell it at auction, lose a huge amount of money (we also discovered japanese knotweed which has taken 10-20k off the value already) and try and buy some cheap chithole with decent nieghbours so we have a roof over our heads.

Part of me wants to stand my ground against the inconsiderate kunts and part of me just wants to get as far away from the house as possible. We were so excited for this house and had so many plans, now it's turned into a fuking nightmare.

What do?

Been through this a few times, sadly. Usually either with neighbors that have people over til all hours of the night, or a couple other instances of neighbors having subwoofer in their condo (bass rattling our apartment all the time).

In my experience, unless you live in an upscale suburb, gated community, or strict HOA, formal complaints don't so anything and cops rarely care or change the situation.

It sucks but I've had to move a couple times over it. I've come to realize most people in life suck and are selfish, self-centered, narcissistic a$$holes. You inevitably end up with a sh!tty living situation with a lot of tension.
I've gotten to my boiling point a couple times and had to physically restrain myself from beating the brakes off our last neighbors.

Good neighbors are real hard to come by, but our current ones are great.

If I ever leave the city to buy a house, my #1 focus will be to make sure there are hundreds of feet between me and any neighbors on all sides of me.

Must be a townhouse or condo if you can hear them so easily. Seems like they have a lot of townhouses instead of detached homes in jolly old England.

Should have known misc wasn't going to be any help. 90 percent of you guys really are just self righteous arrogant little chit stains full of hate. No wonder this place is dying.

edit: see that OP is from the UK. aren't houses tiny over there, and generally close as fuk? they also don't have any zoning laws like we do here that prevent poor people from living in neighborhoods for wealthier people, right?

Wow so you guys actually hate gay people? You are actually fuking pathetic. And partner is what you call the person you are with when you're older than 16 and not married, you absolute fuking dipchits. I'm not trying to be "politically correct" i'm one of the least PC people out there. I'm not gay either but unlike you bigoted little fukwits i don't care if someone is. You guys really are a bunch of fuking losers. Actually negging someone because you think they are gay? I honestly had no idea how pathetic this board was, maybe it's time for me to leave this negative chithole.

And here's another thing you fuking cheb ends, you may think it's funny all the chit you say to people online and all fun and games but there are people out there who can be in pretty dark places and can be pushed over the edge by sick kunts like you guys. I honestly hope you all get stuck in a rut one day and no one's there to get you out.

Nasty little idiots.

I hear catbrah's neighbors are leaving soon, maybe you move next door

honestly the word partner to me at least, means a man. i dont know if its different in the UK or rest of europe, but most ppl just say husband/wife. otherwise it gets confusing. i could tell from the start "partner" was a female, but its just fun to retarded like 90% of the misc

Maybe it's a cultural thing but to me it sounds really childish seeing a grown man with kids saying "my girlfriend".

Edit - and we're not married as we own a house together and under U.K law she could take it so i've always said no. Not about to sign my rights away for a stupid ceremony and a bit of paper. If we were married i would obviously have said wife.

Honestly fuk you guys, i came here genuinely in need of help and all i get is "omg!!111!! he said partner he must be a ****git!!11!!". Fuking pathetic.

This thread is about the word partner and the fact that OP used it unironically.
