The other one thats a stand out wasnt actually Temuera but in the star wars movie that kid acting as his son. I tell you what when he spoke like one word or whatever it was in the theatre when that movie came out everybody in the theatre just laughed their ass off. Typical little maori boy the way he spoke.

Never seen a NZ audience crack up like that in any theatre ever.

What's funny about that film is that it's supposed to show a guy who is pathetic, makes everyone he cares abouts life a misery, is ruled by anger, on the dole, and is brawling in pubs into his 40s which doesn't impress anyone (except the viewer apparently)

But people don't understand the movie and think jake is cool just because he is a great fist fighter. The guy who wrote that story messed up, Jake should have got ko'd near the end of the movie, his message might have actually got through then.

Went the full 12 rounds. Some of Lewis people were saying David Tua was going to cheat by rubbing his tower of hair in Lewis face during the fight.

First saw Once Were Warriors back in 99'ish. You should check the sequel as well, where Jake tries to rebuild bridges with his existing family. It's actually kinda funny, as you have some actors from the first playing different roles in this one (like Pete Smith RIP)

"Cook us some eggs, eh Beth? Oohhh and some bacon!" Cliff Curtis was awesome in that movie as Uncle Bully, and truly deserved what he got in the end.

If you also watch Whale Rider and Crooked Earth you will see the same smallish group of actors reappearing.

Great movie, but hard to watch again because of the depressing themes.

The thing that stuck in my mind about Jake the Muss was how everyone was always chit scared of him, even his friends and those rough looking guys at the party.
