Losing parents at a young age

“The psychological effects of losing a mother or a father during formative years is significant. Children who experience parental loss are at a higher risk for many negative outcomes, including mental issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, ****tic complaints, post-traumatic stress symptoms), shorter schooling, less academic success, lower self-esteem​5​, and more sexual risk behaviors​6​.”

My mom passed away when I was 9 I think it fuked me up for life

I have great sympathy for these people. Losing parents is possibly the worst thing that can happen to someone psychologically and mentally. I have an online friend whose mother committed suicide, and it ruined him completely, and he is always talking about being so close to ending it, pure hell every day. Would not wish on worst enemy

It fuking sucks man. Meanwhile my dad is 63 and both his parents are alive

Lost my dad a few months ago and I’m in my 30s. I’m still pretty fuked up from it.

OP, sorry for your loss man. I still have both my parents. They are in great shape, but at 67 they are showing some age now. It's going to be hard to lose them. Losing people close to you can definitely change a person. Really any hard experience can, but losing family is just a special kind of hard. I've seen people that became broken, but a lot of people come out better, too. The people who come out better are able find a way to move on with life and be grateful for what they have rather than dwell too much on what they lost. Keep your chin up, I think you'll be fine.
