Why is everyone using the term 'actor' nowadays?

Why is everyone using the term 'actor' nowadays?
Heard it on the news. "a couple of BAD ACTORS were caught hacking into blah blah blah"
And then at work. "Be careful of Russian cyber ACTORS blah blah blah"
What the phuck? Can't they use any other fuking word? Why do we humans whatever just parrot whatever NPC phrase we hear on MSM and just phucking parrot it like a robot because it makes us feel smart?
Same for the word "uptick" I have legit NEVER heard this word in my entire life until some ******* on CNN started using it to describe C*vid.

I used to hear Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh talk about the liberals taking "Draconian" measures all the time twenty years ago.

Before two years ago I NEVER heard anyone using this word, now OP is in this thread saying it like it has become a common term. Sheesh
