Rumours say Russians destroyed the AN225 Mriya!

If it confirms, really sad day for aviation.

This was the only one built btw.

Why does it need so many wheels? More things that could go wrong. I'm sure you could engineer it so that it would require less.

Wheels are to spread the weight over a larger surface, otherwise it would damage the runway (yes, the runway).

Antonov 225 has a max takeoff weight of 1,410,959lbs. Runway surface couldn't handle it.

The plane is massive (almost 300ft wingspan)

It was on the ground. So, I believe nobody got killed. (Probably soldiers "protecting" the airport)

Its hard to confirm. Russians are still in the airport and they didn't say anything. But the bombing was bad.

The think is, he can carry more weight than any other plane ever built.

Obviously its consumption depends on a lot of factors, but: "Fuel consumption rate makes 15.9 tons per hour for a cruise flight."

The mating call of the loser.
Instant position is to criticize fuel consumption ===> environmental impact.
Pretty reliable way to spot a loser.
