Shhh...NATO Sanctions Killing People Via Famine

Not people in Russia.

This is NOT a defense of Putin's actions. But freaking lol if you think there are any "good guys".



Cliffs:

- people selling their kidneys in Afghanistan to by food; they were getting $3K to $4K, but are now only getting $1500 for a kidney



- Yemen was already struggling and the UN has scaled back aid to Yemen despite 80% of its inhabitants being in need of assistance



- Egypt was forced to raise bread prices which have been controlled to protect their neediest people



Around 5:40 they switch topics to how the invasion of Ukraine is being covered in the media vs. how wars are covered that happen in other countries.

isn't that region set to double or quadruple their population in the next 100 years? my home country is well off compared to that region and the population keeps declining because it's still barely 10% of European salaries, so idk how that region that is even worse is going to be 3 to 4b in the future from 1 or 2b now...I have to think about bringing one child in to this world because buying a house will be a dream for them, on top of rising living costs yet in these places the average has no problems bringing 4 to 7 children...

I am a mom, and I do post on misc. Not exactly privileged though.

Russia is a major exporter of wheat and petroleum products. If their wheat and oil is kept off the market due to sanctions then there will be a lot less food- not talking just about their wheat exports, but also about the oil, and fertilizer for crops.

Who is hurt the worst when essential products spike upwards in price rapidly due to insufficient supply?

The people who have the least amount of money, aka: the poorest people.

That won't just be "poor foreign brown people" it will be the poorest people in every country who have the least ability to absorb the price shock.

This time feels the same except a much more evil regime. In fact Iraq was a regional evil Russia is a global evil.

People blamed the sanctions rather than who caused them. It’s thanks to The dictator that people are starving and dying.

I'm not sure how this compares to that at all. Russia wants to sell their oil and grain on the market and they are being prevented by sanctions.

They produce 5 million barrels a day of oil that could be purchased and used. In 2019, Russia was the world's biggest exporter of Wheat [$8.14B] and Nitrogenous Fertilizers [$3.05B]





Stopping the supply of oil, wheat, and fertilizer into the marketplace will create suffering for people living outside of Russia.

Most of the faux outrage and virtue signaling over these "international tragedies" are due to the media and social media. Just be intellectually/emotionally honest.

Is it sad people are starving or selling organs so they don't starve? Sure. But I don't know those people and they are not my neighbors. I make enough that the inflation and rising gas prices are a minor nuisance. Many people/families in the US aren't as lucky. The problem I have is the lack of honesty.

One of the miscers above said something to the effect of "if you're that worried, donate time/money to the cause or charity." THIS exactly. Always the comfortable ones willing to cry about international atrocities, wars, climate change, etc. When these same people are in no way affected by price increases and other downsides. The same people tend to disproportionately contribute to the very atrocities they claim to be outraged by all while pointing the finger at others. Not accusing Katya of being one of these people BTW.

TLDR: Intellectually/emotionally dishonest people should just shut up or rope.

I gave cliffs from the video which was calling out the fact that sanctions are *generally* not very effective and hurt the poor more than the powerful.

And, yes, if it continues this is a global issue because wheat and oil are traded globally. That's part of why I specifically mentioned pensioners in the UK and the EU- those countries purchase more of these items directly from Russia vs. the wider effect felt through the entire market.

Higher fuel and food prices will likely hit the bottom 20% of US households the hardest because those are the people spending 50% or more of their income on housing. There just isn't a lot of "extra" to cut.

Also, NATO has millions tied up in Afghan banks once again. Russian food and oil supplies to Afghanistan will not help the famine going on there. You're delusional at best......
