Summer is coming. Camping recipes?

What’s your favorite camping recipes? I’m talking camp fire cooking or small grill/Coleman stoves. Not full on ovens in rvs. I need to get a good Dutch oven.

Anyone camp in the bed of their truck ? I’ve got a topper , so don’t have to worry about bears and wildlife. Way better than a tent imo.

I’m truck camping so I bring a lot . I used to bake a pizza before hand and just warm it up in a cast iron skillet. Me and my boy (see avi) are gonna be living it up , comfortable camping .

Mountain pies...always mountain pies. Usually pizza, or ham and cheese and then i finish off with some apple filling mountain pies for desert.

I’m looking at getting black stone small griddle . Gonna have drawers that slide under my bed and have a cooking platform. Or I might just go cheap and get a Coleman stove.

Dutch oven cobbler with the cake mix is pretty ****ing good srs. If you have a jetboil, I make a lot of cup noodles, oatmeal, dehydrated meals.

And yes I camp exclusively in the back of my truck or on the ground on my cot. I’ll also put my cot in the back of my truck. I have a tonneau cover, if it looks like rain I tape a tarp off the cover down under the tailgate, dry af

The easier, the better.

I do ramen bowl, instant coffee, oatmeal bowl.... Maybe some fruit/cookies.

Nothing worse than trying to prep a "real" meal with extraordinarily limited kitchen resources.

I also don't do beer, I bring whiskey.... It's light, doesn't need to be kept cold.

Edit: if u have a fire, hot dogs & chips are acceptable

I'm kind of pumped to camp this year. Skipped it last summer due to a knee injury from mountain biking.

The worst thing to pack is pillows/mattress.... I need to get inflatable ones to make my life easier.

Fajitas
Jalapeno sausages
Burgers
Bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos

Shrimp "boil" foil packets- 10 shrimp, 2 half corn cobs, sausage slices, fingerling potatoes. Season all that with butter and Old Bay, seal it up in a foil packet, toss it on the grill

I can go without a lot of things but I hate sleeping on air. It’s always cold. A comfy pad is worth it’s weight in gold

Fuk boyos I miss camping. I used to go this place where I was alone on a river. August sunshine, sitting in a folding chair right in the middle of the shallow river, got some Camel playing on my tiny USB bluetooth on the shore, cooler right next to me in the water, just drinking beer after beer, tossing the empties on the shore, couple of tokes off the ol pipe. What a life.

This + brats and dogs.

If we have the blackstone with us we'll do bacon, eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns.

When I'm out backcountry camping I stick to dehydrated meals (carry a small 0.7 oz propane stove with me) and things I can catch. Can usually build a fire anywhere but unless it's needed the propane stove is really efficient.

I like to cook on a small propane griddle or over the fire. And depending on the beer I like it room temp lol
