Anyone count to 10 constantly

So that once you reach 10 you know you weren’t instantly killed in some way that you wouldn’t even know you died (like someone shooting you in the back of the head or a bomb going off)?

Once you reach 10 you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing you are still alive, feelsgoodman

Strong OCD.

Not exactly like that but I count in my head whenever I do a repeating action. For example, walking up the stairs I’ll count each step. Another weird OCD thing.

When I was a kid I’d count to 9 x 9 times all the time and when I started I had to finish.

When I was a kid I was way worse than I am now

as much as possible, I’d take any sentence I heard and go through the letters one by one, putting them on a 2x2 grid in my head. If the numbers of letters in the sentence wasn’t divisible by 4, I’d keep tweaking the sentence till it was. Like if the sentence had a remainder of 1, and it had the word “until” I’d replace it with “till”

Another thing I’d do is say I’m walking somewhere. I’d landmark something on the path I’m walking towards, like a tree

Then I’d start counting towards 10, and I’d think if I reached the tree before counting to 10, something bad would happen, like an airplane would crash on me

Obviously I know it’s not real, but somehow it provokes a fight or flight response and you get addicted to keep doing it

I used to turn light off and on again 5 times when I was a kid.

Then, it disappeared.
