What's your routine, how long is your typical workout, how many rest days do you normally take? If it's normal muscle soreness most can work around it. If you're so sore to the point you can't move maybe a 2nd rest day is needed.

Did shoulders and arms saturday, my bicep and upper body is still kinda sore. Aiming for 5-10 sets per muscle group every 6-8 days.

Really want to go heavy on chest today for volume.

Nope. Unless you starting a new high frequency split and need to adjust to it.

You are the only one who can tell what is an appropriate amount of rest. One reason it's so important to track lifts/weights if you are serious about progression

All depending on how long you're been running your routine you might want to think about throwing in scheduled deloads. Like Wrassler45 stated, you're the only one that will know for sure how much rest you need. I will say that if you're constantly sore after every workout and don't feel like you're recovering properly...take a closer look at your program and make some changes if needed.

I've had trouble with chest/shoulders (like bench press) when lifting back to back days...enough I wouldn't really do it. Too frequent almost always leads to a minor injury that means I can't train them right for a couple of weeks. But I've had serious injuries in the past and am a bit older so ymmv.
