Good to see two people agree with me, at least. Must not be weird, then.

No.

I'm pretty sure it's instinctual.

I prefer doing most things alone. Other than like going to the bar, which I still do alone often.

I prefer to eat alone too. Eating a good breakfast in peace while reading is a great way to start the day, as an example.

You know you have a good point. Like dogs will take their food and eat it away from other dogs. With my two dogs - the tastier the food, like a meaty bone, the further away from each other they will go to eat it.

I strongly prefer eating alone, ever since I was a kid during holidays while my family would be sitting at the dinner table I’d take my plate and go in the other room by myself.

My dad did that. My mom said it was anti social. He liked to watch the game while he ate. Whatever, he worked hard and deserved to do what he wanted.

I don't typically like to eat around other people other than my family, but even then I eat so fast I end up just sitting there for a bit. Thank god we don't have friends that like to do dinner parties and sht like that, because that would drive me nuts. Usually if we eat around friends it's a once a year cookout type deal or some camping situation where you need to eat vs making it the focus.

I don't believe any of our preferences are "weird". They can't be, they are natural. More importantly, I don't believe anyones opinion about my preferences are relevant at all. Go with that OP. You have nothing to be ashamed or insecure about.

Yeah that's cool. That opportunity doesn't present itself often to me but I dig it. I also realized in the last few years, whenever I had the house to myself and/or on my own for dinner, I have been gravitating towards going to the local joint down the street and getting a burger and a few beers by myself instead of seeing what the boys are up to. Whenever you see a guy by himself at the bar (age appropriate bar) don't automatically feel bad...he might be having a blast.

Side note, on spread, OP. Great thrad.
