In conventional warfare sure, US military capitulated the Iraqi military (fourth largest conventional forces at the time) in like three weeks.

Great Power conflict has a lot more dimensions to it that just land, air, and sea though and I think that the US military lags in certain areas, namely social (i.e. "hearts and minds") and cyber.

You're ignoring the nuclear dimension of modern warfare. In a Great Power conflict, the moment one side started to lose, a dozen submarines would pop up off the coast of every major city of the opposing side and turn them into glowing dust.

Conventional warfare between Great Powers must never occur. It would literally be the end of the world.

Yes and it's not even close, the budget alone is just hilarious compared to other countries.

Some equipment is probably matched 1 for 1 with other countries, but the US has good equipment and a LOT of it.

Just look at the navy; China has one old broken down Russian carrier, Russia's carrier I think sets out with firefighting vessels following it because it catches on fire or something...The US has 11 of the BIG nuclear carriers.

Let's suppose Russia pushes into the Sulwaki Gap tomorrow. Lithuania invokes Article Five and NATO forces respond. Now there's a conventional war. Let's say Russia captures the Baltic States or NATO forces start pushing back into Belarus and south western Russia.

Do you really think there wouldn't be a nuclear exchange? Maybe a Kissenger-esque "tactical" nuclear exchange where they aren't dropping the 50 megaton bois but let's say something a bit smaller. Do you really think that wouldn't spiral out of control once a few nukes land and result in the end of the world?

What is an American president supposed to do if Miami or LA gets nuked? What is a Russian president supposed to do if Saint Petersburg or Vladivostok gets nuked? These are high as phuck stakes brah.

I believe DARPA have done a lot to put Americans in a state of strength. China are aware of the importance of intelligence. They know USA has aces up its sleeves. That gives them some comfort to hold out on aggression until it's needed. It's hypersonics disablement platform (starlink and James webb) protect it from nukes but it's not long until China and Russia catch up.

Imagine thinking that ICBMs are the most relevant delivery mechanism for nuclear warheads. BRB submarine launched missiles take 60-120 seconds to reach their target. ICBMs are a boondoggle slash vessel for the military-industrial complex to continue syphoning billions of dollars from the taxpayer. No one gives a phuck about them srs.
