That's enough time to get down to 220 and back to 250.
You can do it.

You got this brah. My best advice is to occupy yourself with stuff that isn't eating or around food. Back when I lost a bunch of weight, I'd go for a long walk in the afternoon/evening when I'd ordinarily be sitting in front of the TV eating a snack.

Beyond that, portion control rather than avoidance seems to be key when family meals are involved. Being the guy that turns down food someone else prepared isn't great. Sometimes eating a healthy snack like an apple or even just a glass of water before a meal can help you feel full faster and not over indulge.

Keep an eye out for the occasional cutting meal threads I post on here to help people out with ideas. My best advice for you would be to create a macro breakdown that works for you and your goals and make it your focus to fill those macros every day. Focus on nutrient-dense, non-processed foods. Have fun with recipes, get creative, challenge yourself.

Some examples below. All macro controlled. I'll lay out a certain amount of lean meat, my carb, and supplemental veg. I know what the calorie breakdown of all of those individual ingredients are, then I create a recipe with them and add various spices...it's really simple.

Turkey meatball pasta:

Tandoori chick pea stir fry with eggs on the side:

Marinated pork loin and sides:

again:

Teriyaki stir fry:

*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*

It's crackers and pasta for me. I am busy as hell. Always doing something. Managing a crew of 17 guys doing construction is pretty stressful, so stress eating is a thing too.

You're not that fat, OP. Just look really dreamer bulked. If you wanna be really lean you could easily lose 50 pounds dead srs. I used to sit at 215 and the lightest I got was 167 last summer.

At around 180 or so you'd probably have a physique that's easily maintainable all year round.

also mirin' maple syrup story!

Jesus. I couldnt imagine losing 50. 220 will be 30 lbs off, so let's start there and see where it goes.

I just always was puffy like this. High-school, university...always the same fat.

Would be super cool to be 200 tho, ngl. I imagine running and chit would be so much easier.

My ex gf did fitness competitions and would get down to 6-7 percent. No period and her vag looked weird and sunken lol. She won everything she entered tho, so good for her I guess

100%. It's so much more comfortable to be lighter at this age. I made that decision in my early 30s, to focus on overall athletics and be lighter, more nimble, quicker, more agile. It feels so much nicer than being bulked up and slow. I'd really recommend it!

I hate dieting. Will look into. I use caffeine like once a week in a pre-workout. Other than that, not even coffee
