If I have the "free time" before work I'm gonna spend it thinking "work starts in X hours". My head gonna be thinking about work, not relaxing.

I don't have a routine. I can be working from 9AM to 1PM, the next day from 3PM to 11 PM and the next day from 4 AM to 2PM...for example. But I always work 3-4 hours before I start working. Even if it starts at 11PM.

I used to work an afternoon/swing shift and I loved it. The only thing I didn't love was that all the promotions and good pay raises would go to the day shift employees because unlike myself on swing shift, the manager has first hand knowledge of what all they are doing and how hard they are working.

Depends on your lifestyle and your social life.

I prefer 2-10 as I always stay up late and I can get all my chit done before work to avoid the mass rush of normies before 5pm.

get to have a normal life but you gotta deal with traffic

on the flip side the evening shift can be brutal when it gets slow and they make you do some dumb chit to stay busy or a customer slips in right before closing

I work in Broadcasting, so the prime time shift has always been the sweet spot. Sleep in until 10am, then run errands before you go into work when traffic is light and stores aren't too busy.

I'd prefer the 2-10, just because I like waking up around 4-5 am, relaxing, then going to the gym around 10am.
I hate traffic, I hate a busy gym, I hate having to wait in line, and you're much less likely to experience those things if you don't work the same hours as everyone else...

2-10 for me. I'm not a morning person at all, and I normally don't go to bed around midnight anyway. It's perfect for my sleep cycle.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.

Also overall, it's healthy to go to bed earlier in the night and wake up early in the morning each day.
